Aphotic Segment is excited again for another monthly installment of cerebral cuts and for this session, we’re inviting our fine friends from New York for a back-to-back weekend collaboration with the Lost Soul Enterprise crew (See AS residents in New York the following weekend).
Lost Soul Enterprises began as a collaboration between Memphis transplant Richard Gamble and fellow Michigander, Mike Rogers, developing out a shared mutual interest for the need contribute a thoughtfully-curated party dedicated to house, techno, and disco… and anything considered within their far reaches. In 2012, these fellows launched their monthly event at the infamous Wreck Room, which would come to serve as a staple to the Bushwick music scene for nearly two years.
Since Wreck Room’s closure, LSE has taken their party into roving territory, producing one-off, clandestine late-night sweat parties that have developed a buzz in Brooklyn and NYC. They’ve been keen on promoting some of electronic music’s biggest rising stars such as Shawn O’Sullivan, Bryan Kasenic and Jared Wilson. Their label has also hit a stride in this new year and output looks to show no signs of letting up. As such, we are honored and overjoyed to invite our friends for a night of deep cuts. Richard will be running the rotation with residents, Soren and Drew Pompa. Mike Rogers will be performing a rare, live performance… his first ever in Detroit. We invite you to request your calendar dates and to screw your Monday nine to five. It’s okay, your boss will understand. Always free, always key!
