Aphotic Segment w/ Rex Bravo (Endangered Species)

Aphotic Segment is back after a month of hiatus, but re-energized and re-aligned with the universe.  Plenty of music stories around family time to keep us inspired to forge ahead with such record madness… we’re happy to be back!

It seems as though summer’s flying ahead instead of trudging along, but thankfully for us, we have friends that make the summer blur slash quick encapsulation more exciting than a long drawn-out summer without zero excitement.  This is how I should explain our friend, Rex Bravo, who we’re proud to announce as this month’s guest at Aphotic Segment.  Rex truly is a man buzzing with sonic energies.  He’s often showing up, supporting, waxing poetically, and most all the time, dancing his booty off!

Perhaps it’s a culmination of the energies he finds within his friends who collect banger records, combined with the energy found within the unparallel vibe of the Detroit music scene.  It’s like he was chosen to dream up a destiny session between Giorgio Moroder, Marshall Jefferson, and Mike Banks.  He makes his records work like that!  Disco, techno, and acid…. These are languages that speak to Rex and those languages translate beautifully into his sets.  One of Detroit budding personalities for sure and you should come and bask in the fun.

As always, resident deejays Soren and Drew Pompa opening the night of music with their favorite classic obscurities…always free, always key!
